‎وَ قَالَ (عليه السلام) الْبُخْلُ عَارٌ
3. Amir al-mu’minin, peace be upon him, said: Miserliness is shame;
‎وَ الْجُبْنُ مَنْقَصَةٌ
cowardice is a defect;
‎وَ الْفَقْرُ يُخْرِسُ الْفَطِنَ عَنْ حُجَّتِهِ
poverty disables an intelligent man from arguing his case;
‎وَ الْمُقِلُّ غَرِيبٌ فِي بَلْدَتِهِ
and a destitute person is a stranger in his home town.
